Add Air Fume Hoods

The Add Air Fume Hood is a lab ventilation system that helps to regulate air in an isolated space through a plenum. It provides safe airflow in labs and industrial or research facilities. Air exiting the fume hood goes through the ductwork to be released into the atmosphere. It is drawn from the open side before being expelled out of the building, creating a safe and efficient work environment. At LOC Scientific, we bring high-quality lab ventilation systems.

About Our Add-Air Fume Hood

Our Add Air Fume Hood has a front mount “add air plenum” that supplies up to 70% of the total hood air volume needed from an outside source, presenting an economical option. The hoods use diffusers and louvers to provide a uniform airflow supply to the front of the fume hood. We have optional service fixtures for the unit installation, bringing effective customization.

Options

We have optional service fixtures for the Add Air Fume Hood Installation. We pre-cut mounting holes for service fixtures and electrical receptacles. They are capped where fixtures are not required.

Design

The fume hood design varies depending on the lab requirements. To determine the best design, we consider the hood size, collar size, static pressure, and other factors. Knowing the total pressure drop through the system helps to select the best exhaust blower.

Features and Benefits of Our Add-Air Fume Hood

Our Add-Air Fume Hoods help to reduce airflow turbulence through the unit. The energy-saving fume hoods bring their own air through a duct run or blower. They are more cost-efficient in the long term due to their energy efficiency.

Up to 70% Air Volume

This system efficiently gives up to 70% of the total air volume required, guaranteeing optimal airflow and enhancing the safety of laboratory environments.

Full View Sash

Equipped with a full-view sash, this unit offers an unobstructed and clear view of the hood’s interior, promoting visibility and safety during operations.

Laminated Safety Glass

The laminated safety glass sash features a full-width PVC pull and a spring-loaded sash stop, enhancing durability and making sure of user safety in hazardous environments.

Audible Airflow Monitor

An audible LOC500 airflow monitor is included to deliver real-time alerts, helping to make sure of safety by notifying users of any airflow irregularities.

One-Finger Sash Operation

This unit features a counterweight system that allows for one-finger sash operation, bringing ease of use and enhancing efficiency during lab work.

Inward-Angled Hood Entrance

The inward-angled hood entrance is designed to minimize turbulence, facilitating smooth air movement and improving the overall effectiveness of the fume hood.

Stainless Steel Airfoil

The stainless steel airfoil permits an inch of airflow across the work surface, even when the sash is closed, guaranteeing continuous protection from hazardous fumes.

Double Wall Construction

Constructed with double walls, this unit allows for easy installation and routing of electrical and plumbing lines, bringing a streamlined setup process.

Resin-Chem Interior Liner

Featuring a standard ‘Resin-Chem’ interior liner, this fume hood includes removable access panels on both sides, promoting easy maintenance and cleaning.

Removable Side Panels

The removable exterior side panels enhance accessibility, allowing convenient access to service fixtures and supply lines, streamlining maintenance tasks and improving functionality.

Isolated Safety Glass Lights

Maximum-width tube lights are mounted above a sealed safety glass panel, effectively isolating hazardous vapors and corrosive fumes while maintaining adequate lighting in the workspace.

Easily Replaceable Tube Lights

Designed for user convenience, the tube lights can be easily replaced from the top front, maintaining minimal downtime and straightforward maintenance procedures.

How Add-Air Fume Hoods Enhance Laboratory Efficiency?

Add-Air Fume Hoods represent an innovative approach to laboratory ventilation that introduces up to 70% of required air directly from an outside source through a front-mounted plenum, significantly reducing operational costs while maintaining optimal safety standards. Unlike traditional fume hoods that condition and exhaust 100% of their air volume, this design delivers substantial energy savings by minimizing the burden on your HVAC system, reducing both heating and cooling costs throughout the year.

Ideal Applications for Add-Air Fume Hood Technology?

Add-Air Fume Hoods are particularly well-suited for laboratories requiring continuous ventilation control without overburdening existing climate control systems, from educational institutions reducing operational costs while maintaining student safety to research facilities conducting long-duration experiments and pharmaceutical labs performing drug development.
