One of the most important decisions you will make
is “which fume hood is right for your lab”. Critical factors
to consider when planning your fume hood systems include:
• Type of work being performed in the fume hood
• The air consumption of the fume hood
• Operator safety and convenience
• Work flow and exhaust duct locations
LOC fume hoods maintain the highest quality and standards in the industry and our Product Specialists
have the experience to assist you with your fume hood requirements.
Once your individual needs are determined, you will be confident that
the fume hoods you select will fit your needs and be of quality construction.
Fume Hood Testing
Safety is the number one concern when choosing a Fume Hood. That is why all of our Fume Hood styles are tested and certified in accordance with the current ASHRAE* method of testing performance of laboratory Fume Hoods. All hoods are also UL listed.

By-pass Fume Hoods
Even with the sash closed, potentially hazardous vapors are kept away from the work environment as a result of continuous air flow across the work surface. An internal by-pass opening, located above the sash, allows a constant exhaust volume while maintaining the face velocity. In operation, by-pass fume hoods work automatically in conjunction with the hood sash. The by-pass fume hood adjustment is made as the sash is opened and closed creating a relatively constant face velocity regardless of sash position.
Fume Hood Sizes: Fume Hood superstructures are available in widths from 48” to 96”, including LOC’s unique 84” wide model. Service and electrical fixtures are optional and must be ordered separately. (custom fume hood sizes are also available.) Fixtures and Lighting
Fixtures and Lighting: Our By-pass Fume Hoods allow you to customize your fixture package according to your requirements. The design allows for easy installation of service fixtures and routing of interior plumbing and electrical lines. All by-pass fume hoods superstructures come with fluorescent lighting mounted above and sealed with a safety glass panel isolating it from corrosive fumes and hazardous vapors. Tube lights are easily replaced through the top front of the fume hood superstructure.
