Scientific collects user information in the following processes:
Chat
Sessions
Visitors of our website may, from time to time, engage in a chat session
with one of our live customer service representatives. This chat session
may be initiated either by the user or by the representative who may
invite a visitor for a chat. The chat session is a one-on-one chat
between the visitor and a representative. Any information provided
voluntarily during such chat session may be collected on our database.
Such information will be used to provide better service to returning
visitors and to get a better understanding for the needs of our audience.
This information is used to gauge the effectiveness of our representatives
and provide better support and service for you.
Support
Forms
In order to provide visitors with the highest level of support, we
may require visitors to provide information via a form that assists
to define and clarify their support requests. When submitting a support
request, users are asked to provide the following identifiable information:

Scientific tracks user traffic patterns throughout our site.
This tracking occurs via website log files and chat log files.
This information breaks down site statistics according to a
user's domain name, browser type, and MIME type by reading
this information from the browser string (information contained
in every user's browser). This information is used only to
provide better service to our visitors by assessing the effectiveness
of our site and resolve technical issues. This information
is collected to provide totals of traffic and usage patterns
for the entire site.
Cookies
A cookie is a small data file that
certain Web sites write to your hard drive when you visit them.
A cookie file can contain information such as a user ID that
the site uses to track the pages you've visited. Nevertheless,
the only personal information a cookie can contain is information
you supply yourself. A cookie can't read data on your hard disk
or read cookie files created by other sites. LOC Scientific uses
cookies to identify repeat visitors to our site in order to provide
them with a better level of service. When you visit our site

collected. All employees are required to sign a confidentiality
agreement and in their training programs emphasis is placed
on the matter of customer confidentiality. Access to data
is only on a 'need to know' basis. Data access is secured
by a random password that is modified periodically. We review
our web security on an ongoing basis. We do not collect or
keep any sensitive information such as credit card information
or social security numbers via our web site.
